Highly recommend Dojo Wu karate lessons for parents and children to bond and keep fit! I first joined Dojo Wu with my son 10 years ago. My son wanted to continue traditional karate which was the training he had before we relocate to Singapore. So glad to train under Dojo Wu. I never took myself as a 'fighting' type, but I was hooked after a trial lesson which Sensei Jimmy persuaded me to try. Each session is structured, very well rounded and adheres to the traditional karate syllabus. Yes, it's a workout - you'll pant and sweat, but you'll feel the difference in strength and flexibility after a few sessions. Dojo Wu instructors have eyes on all levels in each class, from new to seasoned, young or old, no one is left out. They'll make sure you have improvements week after week. All these years, we basically watched each other's kids grow up and earning their higher belts!

Dojo Wu provides a safe and inclusive environment for anyone who is interested in and wants to train in full contact knockdown Karate. Its under the Shinkyokushin Karate organisation based in Japan and led by Kancho Kenji Midori. It has a standardised curriculum meaning that if you go to any Shinkyokushin Dojo in the world the warm up,stretching, basic strikes and movements are the same. The grading and testing is also of a high standard taking direction from Japan. Besides learning techniques such as punches to the body and different types of kicks there is sparring involved. Regular sparring done with protection such as mma gloves as well as shin guards will allow you to test your technique under pressure and in a controlled manner. This will allow you to improve and also know what you need to do to be a more effective martial artist. Sparring is normally done in one minute rounds and supervised by the black belts . This is to ensure the safety of students as well as to remind students to focus on proper technique and not to injure their sparring partners . Make no mistake it is a tough martial art that will teach values of respect and resilience and build your mental and physical toughness. If you are looking for an effective striking martial art that will improve your flexibility and toughness. Do come down and give it a try!!
